Education and Experience Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent, 2-year technical school degree or journeyman or 5 years of experience in a similar function.

Skills Required

  • General knowledge to perform routine, extensive and preventative maintenance and upkeep of stamping department equipment and instruments used.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Able to perform highly accurate work.
  • Possess basic math skills including ability to read and use tape measure, caliper and micrometer to the fraction and decimal.
  • Thorough understanding of dies, their construction and function.
  • Able to set up and operate all tool room equipment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Physical- capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Working Hours- fulltime
  • Personal Traits- Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow direction and or work independently, able to multi-task and trouble shoot. Punctuality and safe work habits.
  • Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow.

Level of Responsibility and Authority

Timely completion of job functions, prepare and requisition material and supply items as directed. Adhere to ISO-9001 quality systems. Responsible for producing quality workmanship, which meets or exceeds requirements.

Job Duties

  • Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction is met with all work done by working with Engineering Manager and Quality Manager.
  • Create dies and fixtures as directed to meet specifications given.
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above.
  • Responsible for maintaining dies and all stamping department operations.
  • Setup and operate all presses, for all dies to produce quality parts.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on stamping department equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures per ISO procedures.
  • Complete task independently from job-list including; set-up, write and edit programs equipment.
  • Follow and execute instructions on job travelers and control plan per ISO procedures.
  • Audit of finished parts, before delivery to QA department for final inspection.
  • Accurately maintain MES system as instructed.
  • Administer CPR or first aid as required when trained.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Maintain neat and clean work area.
  • Responsible for flow of work into and out of department.
  • Assist in monthly inventory as needed.
  • Responsible for scheduling day to day department work.
  • Responsible for jigs, fixtures and tooling for the entire company
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
