Education and Experience Requirement

College degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or 5 years with applicable experience in a metal/machining manufacturing environment. Defense and/or Aerospace experience is desired.


Skills Required

  • Ability to interface with customers and apply customer concepts or blueprints to a manufacturing method or determine manufacturing feasibility.
  • Proficient using CAD, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Good understanding of ISO or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Good communication skills, ability to effectively interface with customers, operations personnel and other office personnel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Physical- Generally sedentary work, proficient in using a PC keyboard and computer; however, must be able to move through the plant to review processes with or without accommodation.
  • Working Hours- fulltime
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with various department personnel and supervisors. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot.


Level of Responsibility and Authority

Responsible for quoting parts to aerospace and defense customers that meet FAR, DFARS, Quality flowdowns and other requirements. Authority as granted by Plant Manager or VP of Operations and Business Development to manage various ad hoc projects. Responsible for preparation of ROHS and NAFTA documents as required.


Job Duties

  • Interface with customers and apply customer concepts or blueprints to a manufacturing method or determine manufacturing feasibility.
  • Prepare quotations.
  • Ensure that quotations and the products meet Quality and other flow down provisions required as part of the FAR, DFAR and ITAR.
  • Closely work with Plant Manager to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow patterns and schedules for all new products and processes.
  • Determine which parts require DFAR or counterfeit risk procedures and ensure that they are properly noted as per procedures.
  • Perform job functions in a safe way and ensure that designed processes are safe.
  • Ensure statutory, regulatory and environmental regulations are taken into account and addressed on projects owned.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Be willing to work extra hours as needed.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
